KIDS AND ADULTS DIG SPRIG ECO-TRUCKS
FORT COLLINS, Colo. – Sprig’s Eco-Trucks give new meaning to the word “dig.”

This trio of trucks provides endless digging scenarios for active play. And, parents are bound to “dig” not only the play value they provide their children, but also the fact that they are made with recycled materials and have no decorative paint.

Sprig Toys, Inc. launched its first environmentally conscious line, the Sprig Adventure Series, in fall 2008. Like the inaugural line, the new Eco-Trucks have no paint and are made with earth-friendly Sprigwood™, a child-safe bio-composite of recycled wood and reclaimed plastic that has visible wood “flecks” and a fresh, pine scent. Sprig’s second collection of green toys will roll onto specialty toy store shelves across North America in November 2009.

“Our sturdy new Eco-Trucks are designed to trigger the imagination and encourage kids to use their fine motor skills,” says Sprig co-founder Justin Discoe. “We want them to get outside and play.”

Each of the three trucks has a traditional yellow and gray color scheme and is equipped with a flip open cab and easy-grab handles. The Dump Truck features a mechanical dumping action, so kids can have fun loading and unloading piles of sand and plenty of dirt. For deep digging and important sand projects, the Excavator is a sturdy workhorse of a truck with mechanical scooping action and a rotating chassis. Like the Excavator, the Loader includes a rotating chassis, but brings dual-action to play with both mechanical scooping and lifting. Each truck sells for $14.99 and is recommended for ages 3 and up.

The perfect play space for these green vehicles is the new Eco-Trucks Sandbox. Made of earth-friendly Sprigwood, this modular, bottomless sandbox is assembled using six stackable, interlocking sections that are easy for parents to fit together and take apart. Each section is either yellow or gray to match the Eco-Trucks and has a recessed seat built in. A fabric liner and cover are included. When assembled, the circular sandbox measures 58 inches across—big enough for up to three preschoolers to engage in sandy fun. It retails for $99.99 and will be available in January 2009. All Eco-Trucks toys are made in the Czech Republic.
