Uncle, US Navy WW II, survived the Battle of the Coral Sea. His ship sank and he tread water for 12 hours with a broken arm.

My brother was a Chief Meteorologist in the Navy for 20+ years...........Vietnam, North Pole, Antarctica along with many other missions on carriers. I think he was on one of the Kittyhawks for many years and was in an airplane charting ice flows when the first sub went under the North Pole ice mass.

Nephew, USMC, helicopter gunner, Liberia US Embassy protection, rescue mission for a downed pilot in Croatia who had been missing for 2 weeks.
