A mysterious monster (thought to be a tiger) that has been marauding the Kumba vicinity, recently devoured four goats donated to Buea Diocese Bishop, His Lordship Emmanuel Bushu.

The goats were donated to the Bishop by some Christians after their confirmation at the Sacred Heart Parish in Fiango, recently. The Post learnt that the goats were tethered in the church premises for the Bishop to take them to Buea.

The story of the mysterious tiger is compounded by the fact that nobody has ever seen the animal. In the place where the goats were alleged to have been devoured, there was no blood, only patches of meat. Besides, some footprints were seen, which many interpreted to belong to the goats eaten by the "tiger".

The same monster is alleged to have eaten a pregnant goat leaving no trace of blood.

The Post learnt that the beast comes mostly at night, eats its dinner and disappears without anyone seeing it.

The monster has reportedly eaten about 14 goats already.A Kumba inhabitant, Simon Abanda, told The Post that it is surprising that nobody has seen the monster or knows exactly when it visits to eat the goats.

He said they suspect that it could be a tiger because no blood is found on the spot where the goats are eaten. However, Abanda said it could be a human being that has transformed into a monster to eat goats.

Manase Ngoe Masue, a Pentecostal Church elder, said since the mysterious beast has started with goats, when all the goats in Kumba would be finished, it would start eating human beings.

Meantime, goat owners in Fiango, where most goats have mysteriously disappeared, are taking their animals to friends and relatives in Buea Road where the ogre has not reached.

In Fiango, the story of the mysterious tiger has been sending people to bed as early as 6:00 pm.
