Canagau drill results
Mountain Lake Resources Inc MOA Shares issued 11140937 1997-10-15 close $0.46 Monday Oct 20 1997 Mr Allen Sheito reports Noranda Mining and Exploration Inc has informed the company that it is pleased with the drill results achieved to date and intend to continue exploration of the Canagau property. Currently, a work program is being developed and will be implemented in early 1998 when the ground is frost-free. Two deep holes totalling 1,582.5 metres were drilled on the property in Ben Nevis township, 75km northwest of Rouyn-Noranda. DDH Can-97-01, drilled vertically to a depth of 960 metres to test the Ehrhart showing revealed strong Na2O depletion throughout the drill hole and intersected chlorite altered volcanics with a prominent sulphide content (5-30% pyrite, sphalerite, chalcopyrite and galena). At a depth of 730m, an alteration zone was intersected over a distance of 107m and returned grades of 0.55% zinc, 0.05 copper and 7.3 g/t silver for this interval. This included 1.42% zinc over 11.75 metres and 5.35% zinc, 0.10% copper, 33.7 g/t silver, and 0.6 g/t gold over 0.15m. This mineralized zone can be interpreted as being within a halo associated with a much larger VMS system. DDH Can-97-02, drilled vertically to a depth of 622.5m to test the Canagau showing, intersected an altered sericite/chlorite and mineralized felsic breccia unit, which yielded assay results grading 0.62% zinc over 11m. Quartz carbonate veins were intersected in both holes with values up to 4 g/t gold over narrow widths. |
