The following is a 7/11/96 Dow Jones news article:

NEW YORK (Dow Jones) -- BT Securities Corp. analyst Michele Wolf initiated coverage of Qualcomm Inc. (QCOM) with a market perform rating.

"We think that it's going to be a great stock and make a lot of money, but there are some timing issues," Wolf said of the San Deigo telecommunications company.

Specifically, Wolf said she doesn't think several planned personal communications services networks, which use digital technology made and distributed by Qualcomm, will be up and running on schedule by the end of this year.

But in the long term, Wolf said, she sees a "huge, world-wide market" for the code-division multiple access technology in which Qualcomm specializes.

Wolf's earnings estimates for Qualcomm are 39 cents a share for 1996 and $1.32 for 1997.
