Bicycles are less dangerous for one simple reason: They don't go as fast as motorcycles.

I once ran into a 3' thick 4' high steel structure while riding on a bicycle. I didn't see it because it was painted a light gray and was precisely within my field of [non] vision at which where glare obscured it. Oh, the pain. I broke a rib, had bruises that lasted weeks.

I would have killed myself on a motorcycle.
