The Democrats just DON'T get it. Over the last 40 years they have held the Whitehouse for a total of 12 years. The 2 Presidents they elected were both from the South and were considered centrists. If you go back 56 years you'll find that the Democrats have only held the Whitehouse for 20 of those 56 years and 16 of the 20 years they were represented by Presidents from the South. The ONE guy that broke that chain was Kennedy and he BARELY got elected by the skin of his teeth (with Daley actually PULLING teeth in Chicago). The Democrats keep nominating "effete intellectuals" with NO ability to connect with the common man. From Stevenson to McGovern to Dukakis to Obama. The Democrats are in the BEST position to elect a President since 1932, but it appears that they may blow this one too because they are too "self involved" to actually care about the future of the United States.
