Sorry, religion in the USA is private, not public.

I agree with that, and wish it never came up in our elections.

If you asked me twenty years ago if I would vote for a Muslim, I would say 'it depends.' Now, because of recent history, I am uncomfortable with the idea. It will take me a while to get over that.

I would vote for Bobby Jindal, who has a Hindu heritage, if I'm not mistaken. I would vote for Joe Lieberman, a Jew, assuming that I did not prefer his opposition. I would vote for a Catholic. I would vote for an agnostic or even an atheist, presuming that he kept his beliefs to herself.

The USA is ready for a Black, Woman, Chinese, Indian, Native American, Korean, Eskimo, or whatever, President. But such a candidate must have the right ideas and otherwise have what it takes to be President.
