The Republicans have won multiple national elections by raising shadow issues based on fear, rejection, hostility to change, and narrow-mindedness. A sad commentary of the american electorate...I live in the deep south (at the moment)....these feelings are palpable here...all around me...and while there are thoughtful people among them, ignorance is an overriding theme.
