The naval optometrist came out of his office looking like someone had died in my family, his sad news was that I didn't qualify for sub duty due to my eyesight....didn't phase me in the least.....;>)

I toured the Sub facility at Bangor and also got a tour of the Michigan.

In training, they put guys in room mocked up like a compartment on a sub with lots of pipes and such. Then they proceed to spring leaks all over, and the guys have to get them fixed before the room fills totally with water.

Not my cup of tea.
