Updated at: 1930 PST, Tuesday, September 16, 2008 LONDON: After meeting British Prime Minister Gordon Brown at 10 Downing Street, Pakistani President Asif Ali Zardari has said that Britain knows Pakistan's situation better than most, and that Pakistan wants the UK to carry its message to the rest of the world.
Talking to reporters, President Zardari said he was satisfied with the meeting and that he was confident that Britain would continue to support democracy in Pakistan. Zardari said Brown understands the situation in Pakistan, but declined to say whether Britain's stance on cross border strikes into Pakistan has changed.
The President said that U.S. strikes inside Pakistan would complicate the situation and harm democracy. President Zardari said he is confident that the U.S. will not again undertake any strikes in Pakistan.( You want to bet Zardari?? Obama has you on the top of his list in destroying terrorism(plus he doesn't like you having Nuclear Bombs), Pakistan is in his Gun Sights. This has been his great Change you see, we destroyed Iraq, now let's destroy Pakistan and Iran, maybe.McCain's difference is he has differnet order on destructions--ha! Both of them in the name of G-d mind you. Now Palin shouts out her biblical fanticism, Obama and McCain less strident, quiter in tone, also are acting in the name of GAWD as one notes, they slip in the Gawd word adroitly, at the right moments when enough RIGHT ears are nearby--max)
Zardari said that a joint communiqué would soon be issued with full details of the meeting.
Both leaders also held discussions on international, regional and bilateral issues. The issue of ongoing war on terrorism figured prominently during the parleys.
Advisor to Prime Minister on Interior Rehman Malik was also present in talks. |
