Yes, it's true that when I held BEARX I lost less than I would have in a straight counter-index fund. But I just prefer something that I can track more closely. Tice was certainly the pioneer in publicly accessible bear market bets. I don't blame him for the fact that Federal Reserve chose to debase the currency rather than letting markets work. I think he will be vindicated, though the long run has been a very long run.
