Sounds to me like they had the goods on NOK and it was about to be exposed to the entire world via live television. NOK caved because as they say, "discretion is the better part of valor" NOK must have figured that they were on the fast track to a loss and that they were going to have a tough time in court bluffing their way through this one. NOK no doubt came away with a deal they could live with, but probably not as good as they might have hoped, if they had won in court. But it sure would have been interesting to see all NOS's dirty laundry exposed to the whole world. I have said it before, Euro's do business in a different way. They are used to subversion and alliances to defeat their competition. This is not the method that QCOM uses, and so we are at a distinct disadvantage against companies that work the way NOK does. Personally I sleep better knowing that the company I have my retirement funds invested in, is honest, has the best product, and is financially solid. I'll take honesty over treachery any day.
