Welcome to Wall Street! I have suffered paper loss on AMAT and MTSN in recent weeks. I have some suggestions for you: 1. If you think its time to bail, think outside the semi equip industry, 2. Out of all the semi equip companies, only a handful are still surviving the storm - MTSN, NVLS. AMAT is not one of them. 3. The projections are that the downturn in semi equip will continue at least until 3Q, 1997. If you are willing to hang on till then, I'd say, hang on to LRCX. 4. Wait till Dec. 30th and if the stock is still doing bad, sell some of it, take the loss and buy it back.
