Let's hope they do. Yeah, but now they really, really mean it. Really. Several years ago, when I first started posting about these issues, I was criticized by one of the manipulative-shorting defenders for trying to stop "progress." How could I justify limitations on shorting equities when the derivatives market would provide those who wanted to crush stocks a way that could not be regulated, or which could evolve ahead of regulation, and which could be taken off shore? I asked back what was more important capital formation for American industry or gambling by big moneyed interests? We are finding out the answers now.
