I do think gold suffered from hedge funds' forced liquidation in the past few weeks, pushed in that direction by a catalyst (SEC, Fed, Treasury, FCBs). I have believed that the selling pressure was going to be of short-lived duration and that once it abated, there would be an incredible void of selling pressure. Just the opposite of a short squeeze that drives a stock price to an unsustainable level.
