For starters, Barrons always has and always will hate tech stocks. They hardly ever say anything positive about the group. Further, any chart reader who has concluded that Ascend looks toppy has severe brain damage. ASND was toppy in the 60s, 70s and 80s. No chart on a stock which has fallen from 80 to 30 can look toppy.
