Reputedly CDSes are a totally unregulated market of some $62 TRILLION notional value.

As Warren Buffett correctly described them a couple of years back they hold the potential to be "Weapons of Mass Financial Destruction".

This will likely go down in the history books as the greatest regulatory failure of all time....
