Um, are you counting the period from about 1980 to 2002? It seems the Gold Crowd was not doing very well during that time.

There were many of those people who had time to do two or three remodels of their backyard bunkers during that time as well as throw away and replace many of their old food, water, and ammunition stashes that had gotten old and gone bad.
