No one believes the US is the source of all evil in the world, that's just silly. 2.) the way it looks from another (that of a democrat looking at what a republican is like?) angle is to look it this way: The US does no wrong, and if you point any wrongs out, you're anti-American... you're self loathing. So YES! Looked at from #2 angle: Don't bother being a democrat if you can't see the US makes mistakes... you're not qualified. Most democrats realize that there have been MAJOR mistakes in foreign policy in the past. Republicans also, but they seem to have dissapeared as of late... or ridden out of the party on a rail (Ron Paul) and belittled. The scene during the Republican debates was telling.... His ability to look at the ME in a wider historical context was immediately seen as an attack on America and ridiculed... canditates were actually jumping up and down and raising their hands like egotistical gradeschoolers unable to hold back their compulsion to declare 100% ABSOLUTE RIGHTOUSNESS for the US and EVIL on the other side. The ugly white Elephant in the room (if Germany, for instance, had invaded and overthrown Saddam and had bases in Saudi Arabia and did business with the Saudi family, backed the Sha, etc etc it would have been the MesseTurm that came tumbling down) just had to be taken out and shot. dAK
