It appears that HBOS in the UK is being bailed out. Lloyds bank is buying them.

It appears that the crisis will go on for a few more days, as the average person who has never heard of Lehman pulls their money out.

So maybe this ends late Friday, but I expect it will end next Monday or Tuesday afternoon, a little after 3:00 pm EDT when the forced margin selling ends.

Fixing the underlying problem - bad mortgages - will take until the middle of next year.
