That is untrue and unfair. Bolton stood up for US at the UN. Somebody has to; otherwise, the UN is out of control and dangerous.<<

I'm sure we'll never agree about this.

I've heard Bolton speak, and the things he said were stupid. Even on the Daily Show, he made an ass of himself. Stewart mentioned to him that President Lincoln had always surrounded himself with people who would not always agree with him, and that he had appointed political rivals to his Cabinet.

Bolton said, "That's not true about Lincoln." (It is true. Here's a link confirming that. From the National Archives, which I hope will be a credible enough source for you.)

Bolton's contention was that the President doesn't need Cabinet Members who will provide him with views that differ from his own. He said, "Why should we even have elections then?" He said that the President had been elected by the people, so he didn't need to listen to anyone else's opinions.

Maybe Bolton isn't an idiot. Perhaps he's just ignorant and stubborn.
