Even on the Daily Show, he made an ass of himself. Stewart mentioned to him that President Lincoln had always surrounded himself with people who would not always agree with him, and that he had appointed political rivals to his Cabinet. He said, "Why should we even have elections then?" He said that the President had been elected by the people, so he didn't need to listen to anyone else's opinions. Maybe Bolton isn't an idiot.
