its more than just shorting but its a start. I dont get the wachovia/morgan stanley possiblity. Wachovia is like Wamu but not quite as bad. Where is wells fargo? They have all the dry powder. US Bank has bucked the trend. Their first foray into Investment bankiing failed with Piper Jaffray. Wonder if they have the stomach. I am thinking some of these solutions might involve three parties as in USB, Wachovia and MS. That creates a national bank from two regional and adds the powerful MS. Looks like JPM, Barclays and BA have already shot their loads.
