There are too many unknowns and we are getting pundits from all over the world explaining their views on how this is going to play out.

The $85 billion dollar "bail out" of AIG is a loan. We don't know if the loan will be paid off or not. We don't know if AIG can survive, so everyone and their uncle is saying they won't. We don't know.

Will JPM be required to tap the FED's $30 billion backstop for BSC? Will the FED actually make money down the road on FNM/FRE takeover?

We don't know how all the counter-party risk issues are going to cascade through the system. Who will benefit, who will lose out? We don't know what % of the $62 trillion dollars in derivatives are going to require payments and from whom?

It may be much worse then anyone can imagine right now. Yet, it may not. Speculating on how all this will transpire is just that, speculation.
