MS bought Bear Stearns and itself is in trouble? Doesn't that strike anyone as wayo? Imagine a bad swimmer jumping into a lake to save a drowning 150Kg fat guy. Recipe for both to sunk together. I believe it was a trick to give the system a impression of solidity. That there were healthy institutions able to save the sick ones. But it was just playing for time.
