On the subject of OEMs, there has been much discussion here that there are a lot of potential OEMs (6-10?) to be won over the next year. I realize this is pure speculation, but was wondering about some thoughts on exactly who these OEMs may be (Ie. who the heck would be interested) because I also think it is important to discuss.

I have made a small list of people that have been mentioned in the past. I think Ancor will win some, in my opinion, and Brocade will win some and Macdata and Arcxel have chances, too.

SQNT--Brocade
Bull--Ancor
EDS --Ancor Front runner bc of class 1?
Sunw--Brocade or Ancor most likely. I favor Brocade bc of Nepotism.
IBM --
EMC--McData part of
DATA GENERAL/Clariion
Unisys
HP
Compaq
DEC
SGI

There are at least 9 potential OEMs out there, in my opinion, that are open. I would like to hear thoughts if I am wack-o or out of line or if there are more or less. From recent press, it seems we will be hearing a great deal about FC products in the coming months, by virtue of them first appearing (ie. Data Generals NT servers to FC connect).
Is it possible that by early 98, some investing people outside of this thread have Heard of Fibre Channel and/or realize its 'one the other side of the server' than GE?? < g >

And Steve, forgive me for being clueless, but what does "KOW" mean?

Thanks,
ALL IMHO
