Too bad for that line of argument that it was the private sector that led in this mess. McCain has been quoted recently as being 'not a regulator', in fact, a deregulator. Deregulation led to abuses by private lenders, resulting in huge bonuses for guys like Fuld but into this housing demise.

He's trying to change his spots quickly, but voters can see through the disguise.
