AOL doesn't announce "deals" with Starbucks, US Robotics, Volvo, CitiBank, or Sony, which leads me to believe their advertisements contributes little to the overall revenue. Moreover, Yahoo! earned $0.03 per share, AOL loss $0.12 per share, that's the bottom line.
