Amazing how one thing by mere chance can be a catylist for another.

"Jane Apreece (1780–1855), was a wealthy Scottish socialite and widow who married Sir Humphry Davy in 1812 to become Lady Davy. The marriage was ultimately unhappy and childless.

She was born Jane Kerr, the only daughter of spice and sugar merchant Charles Kerr (d. 1796), from Antigua. Her first husband, Shuckburgh Apreece (d. 1807), had been the heir to a baronetcy, but died before he could inherit it.

She is perhaps best known as a footnote in the life of Michael Faraday, who travelled with her and her husband as a valet. She was not fond of Faraday, and made him eat with the servants and travel outside of their coach."
