Remember the 'bring it on"? The situation we're seeing is what was necessary to happen but it was delayed.

The important question is: How long it will take to return to a normal equilibrium?

2008 and 2009 will be painful.

My guess is:
-- End of 2008 things will look bleak.
-- Start of 2009 (after McCain takes seat) around march, projections of improvement will be made
-- Second semester of 2009 we will see signs of things start going up.
-- 2010 out of the dark interregnum

Refer please to Asian meltdown. It returned quite nicely, even though many prognostics was for a long dark interregnum.
