Shalom: Please continue when you have a chance. The topic of the 7 churches has captivated me for some time as I think it has great relevance to the leadership in the Church today.
The parable of the fig tree as I understand it is a representation of Israel, i.e. not knowing the time of their visitation.
As I understand the Key of David, this refers to the fact that the Lord Yeshua will reign on David's throne during the millenium. It also signifies that the Lord has the keys of hell and of death (Rev 1:19). In the Psalms we read, "For thou wilt not leave my soul in hell; neither wilt thou suffer thine Holy One to see corruption. Thou wilt show me the path of life: in thy presence is fullness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures forevermore." Here, the Psalmist describes the position that Yeshua has with the Father, at His right hand. He has conquered sin, death, and hell itself.
Concerning the term "synegogue of Satan" (SOS), this was used in NT writings to refer to the unbelieving Jews, as a body. In Acts 14:1; 17:1, 18:7, we get the interpretation that the Jewish synegogue was set in opposition to the church of God.
So, how do we interpret the meaning of SOS today? I hate to think that the traditional Jewish gathering is presided over by Satan. I can't make that jump. Certainly most Jews are blind still today to their Messiah, Yeshua. It is left to the Philadelphian church to unlock the mystery of Messiah to the Jews. This is, praise God, happening today as Messianic congregations are flourishing. The Lord has given the power to this church through it's example to open the eyes of the Jewish people. This is a desire of mine. I truly have a Jewish heart.
God bless you all, Lee |
