How Long Was I Asleep?

From May 12, 2008 until now apparently. Welcome back Rip Van Rande Is. We are now the United States of Federal Reserve America.

I am in favor of preventing another meltdown like the Great Depression, but I don't like rewarding irresponsible Wall Street behavior with tax payer bailouts. These companies lasted for decades, some for well over a century, and now they are failing because they went overboard with risk? We need to get back to common sense rules limiting excessive exposure to margin (which is what did us in in 1929, we haven't learned?!?) and limiting risky debt swap securities that take away the incentive for lenders to ensure they are lending to credible creditors.
