most successful entrepreneurs are people that come from highly educated backgrounds that took a different path. Its a completely different deal when Gates or Dell drops out of Harvard to build a company. First of all these people were ACCEPTED into top schools to begin with- I can't think of any of the really successful college dropouts who were not working at a top university originally whether it was Jobs at Reed college or Gates at Harvard, what have you- they just took a different path.

These "folksy" people the right puts forth like Palin were never smart enough to take that high road to begin with. Even BUSH who is a limited leader in all respects, is better than Palin because Bush's family at least exposed him to the upper echelons of the world that a president needs to negotiate with.

Palin's low brow world was completely vetted on national TV with that "bush doctrine" question. A skilled leader of any kind knows how to handle a question that you don't understand with ease. Just say you don't know, but do it eloquently. With Palin you are dealing with a high school debater. Even Palin's scripted convention speech wasn't any good. Its just that the bar is so low with her constituency.
