Thank you Shalom,

For the information regarding free choice. The person I am having the discussion with is taking the position that since God is all knowing then the results are predetermined and so humans do not really have free choice.

My point back is that although God is all knowing that has no impact on us. We base our decisions on not knowing what the outcome will be. The example I used was if you had a small child who loved chocolate, was very hungry and you placed it within his/her grasp and view...you would know what that child would do...HOWEVER... it is still the child's choice. You did not tell them to eat the candy. Probably not the best example (since it is a lot like Adam and Eve) but it was what came to my mind. I often think of ourselves in a position similiar to God when it comes to our children. We love them beyond all earthly love and would do anything for them (within reason), but sometimes we need to stand back and allow them to fail and grow.
This was the type of free will/free choice they were saying is not represented in the Bible (i.e everything is already known by God therefore there is no free choice).

Thanks Again... If anyone thinks of anything else I'll be watching.

PAX,

T.R.
