The majority of the Military-Industrial Complex deficit was spent on the war in Iraq---a country that never attacked us, never had weapons of mass destruction, etc. etc.

Totally immaterial. What matters is that winning the war in Iraq is a major step toward preventing future attacks as the one we suffered on 9/11. That's all that matters.

And as it has turned out, we are winning that war, and doing so will help to insure the safety of Americans at home for years to come.
