miklosh,>>>With all this talk of SparQ, how do we know that IOM will not reveal a new product at the Comdex that is the equal of, or superior to anything that SYQT will offer on a price/performance basis? <<<
I wish this will be the case (I have, for me, a sizable investment in IOM from pre pre split days and have held on even after it went over 50).
Somehow I don't think Kim Edwards is quite the genius that most Iomegans believe. I think he is a great salesman and a pretty good CEO, but I don't think he understands technology well enough to provide an aggressive product development vision to blow away the competition as Andy Grove has done in the uP market.
Since joining Iomega, he has done a great job marketing and selling products that were already in Iomega's pipeline in 1994. He hasn't brought out anything that is truly his own. He's announced RecordIt, Buz, N-hand, and notebook zip. None of this is going to impact the bottom line any time soon.
So far he is all hat and not much cattle. The door is still open.
