I found this in a recent Reuters article about AT&T, "Consolidated wireless subscribers grew 20.6 percent to 5,769,000. AT&T said although the subscriber base continues to grow, net additions in the third quarter were 173,000, a decline of 29.3 percent from the third quarter of 1996, reflecting intensifying competition in the business."
