Telxon Appoints Five Value-Added Distributors To Provide Services To
End Users
AKRON, Ohio, Oct. 20 /PRNewswire/ -- Telxon Corporation (Nasdaq:TLXN) announced today that it has appointed five value-added distributors to provide products and services to its resellers, a move the company said will speed the flow of products and systems to the ultimate customers and help control costs.
The five distributors are Data Technologies, Datex, POS Information Systems, Positive ID Wholesale and Sirius Computer.
Part of a corporate wide program to streamline every facet of the company's operations, the addition of these new distributors
will result in improved product availability and increased access to technical support,'' said Mark Zelenak, Telxon's vice president of business relations.
Under the new arrangement, distributors will also provide product merchandising and financing assistance to VARS, when required.
''These five distributors were chosen because of their experience in the industry, financial strength, sales and marketing experience and a strong dedication to Telxon's leading edge technology,'' Zelenak said.
The Telxon executive said appointment of distributors reinforces the company's commitment to fulfill indirect channel products only through authorized resellers. As part of an expanded VAR program, Telxon has employed dedicated business partner executives' support in developing world class solutions utilizing Telxon's broad range of wireless computing devices.
Telxon also will place a new emphasis on product training and establish VAR advisory councils to broaden communications with resellers.
