There was no unwind, the current account is always the reverse
of the capital account. So, foreigners bot a bit less. Now
they can dump them and the current account will reverse. They
will get to share the mess, though. It has not happened,
as there is CB cooperation, and it may not happen. The driver
for the dollar bounce were short speculators and high libor.
Any time libor rates spike higher, the effect of rate cuts
is gone or reversed. Rates play crucial role, since derivative
markets are fully in charge of currencies.
