Don't sweat it, congress will cave, and we'll have the bailout. Bernanke, our leading expert on the Great Depression, holds the view that it could have been avoided it the (R)'s in charge THEN had thrown enough money at it.

He could be right, I certainly don't know. I can hear him now talking to Bush "WORSE than Hoover, Mr. President..". Paulson's already told us this was contained, problem solved - what, three, four times now?

I hope congress AT LEAST gets some other people to weigh in before acting, dissenting economists, Sec. Treas. from previous admins, etc. We should have public hearings on CSPAN.
