CD's are FDIC insured. They're covered in any event up to 100K (and no one has any business owning more than that in any one bank).

The MM's deserved to be supported. Fine. Don't need a trillion bucks to do it. Put a freeze on deposits to quarantine the problem, let them run out current portfolios. Then self-insure the rest. Yields would drop (but apparently they need to if the buck is being broken, they are in instruments that are too risky).

Nothing else shoulde be done. And an open ended price tag certainly is not necessary (especially with Hank Da Snake holding the purse strings).
