I listened to the webcast. Sounded pretty good, IMO. I think if Spansion had unlimited access to capital, they would have equipped SP1 to higher capacity and did the NAND build there, but reality is that Spansion does not have the capacity.

Another thing mentioned was that Spansion is still not selling out even the capacity in place (2000 wafer starts). If Spansion does find enough customers for this low density NAND, why not use some spare capacity for this NAND?

I wonder what the cost of that would be, compared to SMIC, but there is cost to not selling out the capacity, or building into inventory...

30M per quarter amortization on the loan repayment does not look draconian. If the demand holds, it should not be a problem.
