Yeah, I listened to most of the Congress. The terms aren't acceptable yet because they haven't worked out a deal. In it's worst form, this proposal will end up hurting all the smaller financial institutions that have to take this deal. The big guys will benefit more from prices that are rising for the CDO and MBS security prices. None of the big banks want or need any of this legislation, but all of the smaller regional banks that really need this legislation will end up suffering.

None of the big banks have tapped the FED discount window for any money. Why should they tap the TERM program? WB might be the only major bank to participate in the program to unload their Golden West portfolio. BAC, JPM, C, WFC, and USB shouldn't need access to the window.
