I never saw a worse dog and pony in my life. If you had told me that a highly rated Wall Street salesman and the best Congressmen money can buy would be stupid enough to let their gonads get caught trying to slip through such a public ringer, I would have not believed it.

Frankly I am shocked the market didn't completely tank before they finished up... No doubt it will tomorrow.

It may take a clipping of the parachute cord to make this baby fly Mr. Caruthers, but how they'll get the CEO's to go along with it I do not know.

What will the basis of the shareholder suits be? The post bankruptcy platinum parachute is a long cherished "right" of the red breasted CEO. They will no doubt be able to claim that $700B was not enough and the government "solution" was no more than asset rape that would have resulted in bankruptcy anyway. Certainly after the melt-down to come proving them wrong would be quite impossible.

I see nothing in the history of CEO evolution... or the Constitution for that matter... that suggests to me that they would/will be unwilling to call your bluff. I know I certainly wouldn't throw away my only hope of the retirement brass ring for this newly patented Republican socialism.

And after seeing McCaine't immediately rush his fresh new Economic Plan v5.00b up the flag pole for no reason other than to suck up to Mom & Pop Cretin... I don't see how a whole graduating class from the Ivy League and Stanford too will be able to realign the politics with the reality of this mess.
