The only mention made public about this was right after the storm passed. We heard on the TV news as well as the radio news, interviews from galveston personel who were taking calls from paniced people on the west end that chose to stay while the hurricane was active. They were calling for help and the personal on the other end of the phone told those calling there was nothing they could do for them because of the active storm. The lines went dead. That was the last we ever heard publically about this.
