Where ya been? Missed you. Tried the coconut oil I bought a while back for the first time. I had refrigerated it and had difficulty chipping a chunk of it out of the jar in which I stored it. Too much work for regular use. I expected it to taste a bit of coconut, but it didn't.

They are related, but they are not the same thing.

I know the difference between glycemic index and glycemic load. I just don't see the utility of looking at the glycemic index when I have glycemic load. Seems to me that glycemic index is a waste of the individual's time, useful only in computing the glycemic load, which, thankfully, those maintaining nutritional data bases do for us.

I record daily calories and glycemic load. I glance at other factors like percentage of macronutrients, Omega 3/6 ratio, various vitamins and minerals, etc., but don't focus on them. So if you have some insight on why I should give glycemic index some individual attention, I'd appreciate it.
