MD,

what do you recommend to people who have had severe allergic reaction to fish? male, in his late 50's knows he needs to take the fish oil supplement for the omega 3's but is extremely wary as he almost died from an allergic reaction to fish

I would try a MicroCap of "pharmaceutical grade" fish oil and see what happens.

Nobody is allergic to EPA/DHA. It's the other stuff in the capsule that people may be allergic to. Maybe the various processes of molecular distillation that pharmaceutical grade fish oils practice get rid of that stuff.

I wish someone could sell pure EPA or DHA, but I don't think anybody has been able to make it economically.

Joe
