Funny you should bring this up, Thomas, but with my new status as a professional-oh-or do you have to be paid to be a professional? Um-well-as a published (yeah-that's it)writer, I have decided that I deserve a little help to free up my time for more important artisitic endeavors. (I am going to get so much mileage out of this little column!)
And so I have someone coming next Tuesday to clean my house!! She would have come tomorrow, but there was no way I could get the place ready in time.
CW informs me that there is something under his bed that he believes originated from Blue, but hasn't examined too closely. When I began to scream, he said not to worry, it was all old and dried up and didn't smell anymore.
Also there haven't been any missing children posters up around the neighborhood, although there is one rather repugnant child that no one would report missing unless someone mentioned it and the parents felt obliged to call the police to keep up appearances, so that may be a possibility.
I think we are safe on the other night, though, as it was quite warm and the child would have had to be wearing a fur coat to be the object under our bed.
I do think, at least for the first visit, we should attempt to appear as close to normal as possible. I just hope that Blue doesn't decide to welcome her with one of his little treats. |
