The bailout may reduce the severity of, or delay, a recession. If that was its only effect, I'd be a supporter. But I think it will create more problems and costs than it resolves.

It seems to me that a 700b bailout simply to avoid a recession, which is just something that has to happen now and again, it setting a bad precedent.

My concern is that we are facing something more severe, but I admit to not understanding this stuff as well as I believe you do.
