Of course neither of those two factors can be ruled out, but they are at least somewhat unlikely. A real risk, but hardly inevitable.

There are a number of people whose opinion I respect who beg to differ with your conclusion. Frankly, I am not willing to risk that you are right and they are wrong. There is too much at stake.
